This course trains the students to endow them with the skills required for patient care. The course curriculum of Pharm. D program entails pharmaceutical, biological, social, and clinical services information emphasizing on utilizing this knowledge to patient health care. The Pharm.D program at Chandigarh College of Pharmacy is a 6 years doctoral program in Pharmacy, approved by the Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi, and affiliated to IKGPTU, Jalandhar, Punjab.
The course was started in India to advance clinical and hospital pharmacy services. Further, this is the only Pharmacy course that provides direct contact with the patient-healthcare system and certifies the professionals to take vital decisions in prescribed medicines. The Pharm. D program consists of a classroom-based and hospital-based informative study followed by a one-year internship in a hospital for clinical management of in-patients on top of ongoing practical and a research project.
