Faculty Development Programme
A five day faculty development program on Innovations in Pharmaceutical and Chemical Technology was organized by the Chandigarh College of Pharmacy at its Landran campus to enhance the research and teaching capabilities of the faculty.
All the faculty members of the department took part in the program to enhance their teaching skills. Many eminent professors from the field of pharmacy took part and shared their valuable research experience. The speakers presented their talks on various titles which immensely benefited the participants from different institutions from not only Punjab but also from surrounding states like Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan.
Dr. Bhupinder Singh Bhoop from Punjab University, Chandigarh gave a presentation on “Quality by Design: A key towards Innovation” while Dr. Suresh from Punjabi University, Patiala gave his presentation on “Ethics of Pharmacy Profession”. Dr. C S Gautam from Government Medical College Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh gave his talk on “Herbal Drug Interaction with allopathic medicine”. Dr. Sanjeev Puri from University of Engineering and Technology, Punjab University, Chandigarh cited his view on “Making Research a Passion”.
Speaking during the opening ceremony of the FDP Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman, Chandigarh Group of Colleges said that the current research scenario in various technical fields need constant upgradation of the faculty and this effort of the college needs to be appreciated where prominent researchers from all across the country have reached to share their experience. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC appreciated the efforts of the faculty and researchers who reached the institution for contributing to the development of pharmacy as a science.
Other researchers who shared their research included Nitin Sharma Chairman and Managing Director Orbit Biotech Private Ltd. “ Young Scientists in Biotechnology Sector” Rajesh Nanta and Mr. Chaitanya Kaushik for giving a practical training on PCR, Dr. Nirmal Singh from Punjabi University., Patiala on “Emerging concepts in Management of Ischemia Reperfusion Induced Injury” , Dr. Anju Katyal “Abuses of Alcohol”, Dr. Vipin Saini “Novel Multiparticulate Technology”, Mr. Rahul Taneja for clearing our concept on IPR”, Dr. Satish Sardana “Neutraceuticals for Health benefits”, Dr. PV Bhartam, NIPER, Mohali “Molecular Docking” and Dr. Lakhwinder Singh on “Green Chemistry”.
