CATHOLICON -2009 concluded on 27th-Feb-2009, Pharmacy students recorded and enviable history by capturing seven Top Positions out of 10 in the merit list declared by PTU. Delegation from Cambrian College from Canada, discussed job avenues with students for their career growth and best placements. Biotech Workshop conducted at college campus Guest Lecture conducted at CCP. Students of Bio-Technology are attending training in Microbiology in reputed institutes.

About Biotechnology Department

The Department offers a three-year B.Sc. Biotechnology and a two-year M.Sc. Biotechnology program. The curriculum of these programs has been designed that imparts education compatible to the needs of industry and academia. The M.Sc. students are provided an opportunity to do project/industrial training in final year which helps them to handle independent projects in academia and industry.

The Department is equipped with 8 labs which provide hands on training in various areas of biotechnology such as industrial biotechnology, environmental biotechnology, genetic engineering, food biotechnology, animal and plant cell culture technologies, bioinformatics etc.

To impart basic knowledge and skills of various aspects of biotechnology

To train the students for industrial need and to pursue further education

To inculcate entrepreneurship among the students so as to start their own ventures in the field of biotechnology

To impart advanced knowledge and understanding of various aspects of biotechnology at par with national and international levels

To generate skilled manpower in different areas of biotechnology to serve the Biotechnology related industries and  provide trained manpower.
