Summit 2015 On Innovative Medical Technologies In India

Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) organized “Summit 2015 on Innovative Medical Technologies in India” in association with World Association for Small and Medium Enterprises (WASME) on 16th and 17th Feb 2015 at CGC campus. WASME is the only globally recognized non-government organization of SMEs, bearing consultative status with various UN agencies. The summit was lined with the “Make in India” program aiming to create a platform for the Indian healthcare industry and their technology/ products/services with an objective to facilitate an environment of healthy growth. The Summit 2015 was supported by National Health Mission (NHM), National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC), Kirloskar Technologies Private Limited (KTPL) and Association of Indian Manufacturers of Medical Devices (AIMED). To enlighten students and faculty with innovative talks various eminent speakers like Mr. Surjit K Jayani (Minister for Health, govt. of Punjab), Mrs. ViniMahajan (Principal Secretary, Min. of Health and family welfare), Mr. Jitender Sharma (Head Technology, NHSRC), Mr. Anil Jahuri (CEO, QCI-NABCB), Mr. Mritunjay Jena (Jt. Director NABCB), Mr. ParbhatArora (Director, NHSRC), Mr. Ameel (NSHRC), Mr. SubhashSood (Consultant Growth Initiative, KTPL) and Mr. RavindraNath (Forum coordinator, AIMED) were present to grace the occasion. The “Make in India” program identifies important growth drivers for Indain Healthcare industry so that country becomes a popular destination for clinical trials, contract media and manufacturing activities. Along with rising levels of education was emphasized to increase acceptability of medical technology.
